GLAD Project Carried out FPIC Meetings with Local Households

From April 7–15, 2026, within the framework of the Gia Lai Agroforestry Development Project (GLAD), household consultation activities based on the FPIC principles (Free, Prior, and Informed Consent) were carried out in Krong, Dak Rong, and Bien Ho communes, Gia Lai province. The activities engaged nearly 80 participants, including local households and authorities.

The consultation sessions focused on providing information regarding the project’s objectives, activities, and potential impacts, while clarifying the rights and responsibilities of local households participating in tree planting within their gardens. The open dialogue created a space for participants to ask questions, share opinions, express concerns, and propose suggestions related to project activities.

Valuable feedback from the community was recorded, and most participants understood the key information and expressed their positive consent. This serves as an important foundation to ensure that project activities align with local needs and context.

Household consultation is a crucial step in the implementation of the GLAD Project. It helps ensure transparency, strengthen community participation, and build a solid foundation for cooperation among the project, local authorities, and the community. Promoting genuine community participation not only enhances project effectiveness but also contributes to sustainable resource management and livelihood improvement at the local level.

The GLAD Project is funded by Greenchoice through Face the Future, and is managed and implemented by PanNature in collaboration with the Gia Lai Department of Agriculture and Environment and local partners. The project promotes scattered tree planting, agroforestry, and ecosystem restoration in ways that are ecologically appropriate and aligned with local livelihoods in Gia Lai.
