GLAD Project Carried out Stakeholders Consultations
From April 20 to May 14, 2026, within the framework of the Gia Lai Agroforestry Development Project (GLAD), a series of inclusive consultations were carried out across 10 communes within the project implementation areas in Gia Lai Province. The sessions were designed to provide stakeholders with a project overview and the implementation plan for the 2026 tree-planting activity.
The consultations engaged a diverse group of participants, including representatives from local Party Committees, Commune People’s Committees, local departments, village leaders, schools, and other relevant stakeholders.
Discussions focused on defining the rights and responsibilities of participating stakeholders, while also highlighting the importance of expanding green spaces in improving environmental landscapes, enhancing quality of life, and supporting household livelihoods. Participants also discussed implementation methodologies tailored to specific local conditions in order to ensure operational efficacy and long-term community engagement.

As a result of these consultations, representatives from villages, schools, and other stakeholders reached a consensus to identify and propose suitable sites for planting, including schools, communal houses, and inter-village roads. In addition, village leaders committed to organizing community meetings to widely disseminate information, encouraging local households to participate in tree planting for livelihood development and the expansion of green spaces at the household level.
These consultations serve as a critical mechanism for strengthening coordination between communities and local authorities, establishing the necessary framework for an effective implementation of landscape restoration, agroforestry development, and climate change adaptation activities in the province. To date, the project has successfully conducted consultation meetings in 13 communes across Gia Lai Province.
PanNature believes that the proactive involvement of local authorities and communities is essential to promoting sustainable development values, fostering greener and more harmonious living environments for local people in the province.
The GLAD Project is funded by Greenchoice through Face the Future, and is managed by PanNature in collaboration with the Gia Lai Department of Agriculture and Environment and local partners. The project promotes scattered tree planting, agroforestry, and ecosystem restoration in a manner that are ecologically appropriate and aligned with local livelihoods in Gia Lai.
