Vietnam Banking and Environment Policies

This report has been consolidated based on the studies conducted in 2 years, 2012 and 2016, with the purpose to review and analyze the constraints that hinder the ability of credit organizations in Viet Nam to develop green credit and encourage adoption of social and environmental risk management practices. Based on the assessments, the report also recommends policy measures to support credit institutions in growing green credit and managing environmental and social risks for the loans granted to development projects.

Workshop on Promoting Effective Governance of the Mining Industry

In order to introduce the Resource Management Index and assessment results on minning industries in 2017, discuss the current situation and efforts to innovate the effective governance model of Vietnam's mining industry, 30 January, Vietnam Mining Coalitionand and PanNature in collaboration with the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) to organize the workshop “Promoting Effective Governance of the Mining Industry” to promote effective governance of the mining industry in Vietnam.

Flood rises due to loss of 1.7mln ha protection forest

At a meeting jointly-organized yesterday by PanNature, a Vietnamese not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and conserving diversity of life and improving human well-being in Vietnam, and the Department of Special Use Forest and Protection Forest Management under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development discussed measures how to protect and restore protection forest in the country in a bid to prevent catastrophic flood.

Promote responsible and sustainable investment in agriculture

Forum on "Promoting cooperation for sustainable and responsible investment in agricultural and trade" was co-organized by People and Nature Reconciliation (PanNature) and the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Association for Economic Cooperation Development (VILACAED) in Vientiane, Laos on October 20, 2017. At the invitation of the Organizing Committee, CIRUM sent a representative to participate and contribute ideas at the forum.

The 8th Mekong Region Annual Forum in 2017

In order to further promote trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in particular and the Mekong region in general, the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Association for Economic Cooperation Development[1] (VILACEAD) in cooperation with the Vietnam Business Association for Cooperation and Investment in Lao PDR (Viet – Lao BACI), the Center for People and Nature Reconcilation (PanNature) organized the 8th Mekong Region Annual Forum in 2017 with the theme "Promoting sustainable and responsible investment on agriculture and trade". The forum is co-funded by UN-REDD Viet Nam Phase II Programme.
