Supporting Rubber Enterprises in Complying with EUDR

On April 16, 2025, in Gia Lai, PanNature, in collaboration with the Institute of Advanced Technology and the Gia Lai Department of Agriculture and Environment, held a working session with rubber enterprises. The goal was to establish methods and documentation to verify that cultivated land is not linked to deforestation, in line with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Since late 2024, products such as rubber, coffee, and others exported to the EU must prove they are not associated with deforestation activities after December 31, 2020. Verifying that cultivated land is deforestation-free is a core requirement for enterprises to maintain market access, enhance transparency, and protect brand reputation.

During the session, participants clarified the EUDR requirements for Vietnamese enterprises, discussed the process for verifying deforestation-free land based on the JRC 2020 reference map, developed a list of necessary documentation for enterprises to prepare, and exchanged views on the mechanism for issuing verification certificates and the role of relevant authorities.

Participating enterprises, including Dakruco, CPR, Ch? Sê, Ch? Prông, and others, expressed their desire for a clear process to demonstrate EUDR compliance, aiming to avoid exclusion from global supply chains.

PanNature remains committed to supporting enterprises, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders in developing a transparent rubber production model that does not contribute to deforestation. This effort not only helps protect the environment but also supports the expansion of international markets for Vietnam’s rubber industry.
