Experience Sharing – Spreading Grassroots Conservation Initiatives
On the morning of January 5, 2026, in Hanoi, PanNature organized an experience-sharing event titled “Promoting Grassroots Biodiversity Conservation Initiatives” as part of the activities celebrating PanNature’s 20th anniversary.
The event served as a platform for organizations, experts, community groups, and partners implementing community-based conservation initiatives under the Grassroots Conservation Grant Program funded by Conservation Vietnam and managed by PanNature to meet, exchange experiences, and discuss their work. Participants shared their project implementation plans, initial results, as well as the challenges and opportunities encountered while carrying out conservation activities at the local level.
Discussions focused on several key areas, including wetland and marine ecosystem conservation, natural forest protection, and the conservation of endangered, precious, and rare species of flora and fauna. Through presentations and open discussions, participants had the opportunity to reflect on diverse conservation approaches, ranging from mobilizing local community participation to integrating conservation with sustainable livelihood development.
The program also welcomed valuable insights and professional feedback from experts in the field of nature conservation. Experiences from similar funding mechanisms, such as the Green Swallow Fund and the Small Grants Programme of the Global Environment Facility (GEF SGP) managed by UNDP, were shared to help further improve the design and implementation of grassroots conservation initiatives.
Through this activity, PanNature hopes to continue enhancing the quality of designing and implementing community-based conservation projects, while strengthening connections and collaboration among organizations, community groups, and experts who share the common goal of protecting nature and biodiversity in Vietnam.
