The “Contributing Leaves for Regreening Forests\u2014For a Green and Sustainable Vietnam<\/a>” project, a collaborative effort by Vietnam Airlines, MoMo, and PanNature, has been awarded the Sustainable Development Idea Award at the prestigious Human Act Prize 2024.<\/p>\n

The award ceremony took place on December 14, 2024, at the Ho Guom Theater in Hanoi, recognizing impactful and sustainable initiatives that benefit communities and the environment.<\/p>\n

About the Human Act Prize<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Human Act Prize, organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and VCCorp, is a national award honoring individuals and organizations making significant contributions to society. This annual event promotes impactful and sustainable community-driven initiatives.<\/p>\n

The 2024 theme, “Community Creation,” emphasizes fostering connections and collaboration for meaningful projects. The award encourages the replication of successful models to inspire broader societal engagement. This year\u2019s competition attracted 128 submissions across diverse sectors, including education, healthcare, clean energy, poverty alleviation, and responsible consumption.<\/p>\n

Spotlight on the Winning Project<\/strong><\/p>\n

The “Contributing Leaves for Regreening Forests” project was recognized for its innovative approach to environmental restoration combined with sustainable tourism. Vietnam Airlines and MoMo contribute a portion of their ticket revenue to a reforestation fund managed by PanNature. This fund supports reforestation efforts while engaging local communities in meaningful ways.<\/p>\n

Achievements of the Project<\/strong><\/p>\n

Launched on World Environment Day, June 5, 2024, the project has made remarkable strides:<\/p>\n

  • Planted 35,000 trees, restoring 53 hectares of forest in Hang Kia \u2013 Pa Co Nature Reserve (Hoa Binh) and Van Ho district (Son La).<\/li>\n
  • Restored over 100 hectares of forest in 2024 alone by planting more than 60,000 trees across Hoa Binh and Son La.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    These efforts are part of PanNature\u2019s broader “Regreening Forests” program, aiming to restore 500 hectares of natural forest connecting Mai Chau district (Hoa Binh) and Van Ho district (Son La) over a decade, starting in 2022. This initiative focuses on biodiversity enhancement and sustainable forest management.<\/p>\n

    A Vision for Sustainability<\/strong><\/p>\n

    PanNature oversees technical implementation, resource mobilization, and community engagement. Local communities actively participate in planting, caring for, and monitoring trees, ensuring long-term success. The collaboration underscores the importance of partnerships in achieving environmental and social goals.<\/p>\n

    PanNature remains committed to expanding these efforts through continued collaboration with communities and corporate partners like Vietnam Airlines and MoMo. The “Contributing Leaves for Regreening Forests” initiative serves as a model for impactful public-private partnerships, contributing to Vietnam\u2019s sustainable development goals and showcasing the power of collective action for environmental conservation.<\/p>\n
