{"id":3193,"date":"2018-12-20T16:54:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-20T09:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nature.org.vn\/en\/?p=3193"},"modified":"2019-01-31T11:45:13","modified_gmt":"2019-01-31T04:45:13","slug":"vietnamese-investors-and-ngos-networking-in-laos-and-cambodia-for-sustainable-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nature.org.vn\/en\/vietnamese-investors-and-ngos-networking-in-laos-and-cambodia-for-sustainable-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Vietnamese Investors and NGOs networking in Laos and Cambodia for sustainable development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since 2015, PanNature has started an initiative engaging Vietnamese private sector to leverage their social and environmental responsibilities in oversea agricultural investment, which aims to contribute to more sustainable investment and development in Mekong region.<\/p>\n<p>PanNature and its core partner Oxfam Vietnam, Vietnam Chamber of Commercial and Industries (VCCI) and a group of business sector developed the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.org.vn\/en\/2019\/01\/voluntary-guidelines-on-mitigating-socio-environmental-risks-for-vietnamese-outward-investors\/\">Voluntary Safeguard Guidelines<\/a> for Vietnamese outward investors in 2016 and have been piloting the guidelines application. Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) and Daklak Rubber Investment Joint Stock Company (DRI) are pioneers on piloting in their projects in Laos and Cambodia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Quasa-Geruco Rubber Joint Stock Company (Quasa Geruco) \u2013 a member of VRG and Dak Lak Rubber Limited Company (Daklaoruco) \u2013 a member of DRI have invested in rubber plantation in Savannakhet and Champasak province, Laos while Krong Buk Ratanakiri Aphivath Caoutchouc Co., Ltd (KRRC) \u2013 a member of VRG has also done the same in Ratanakiri province.
