However, gender inequality in resource management is still common\u00a0in many places, especially in rural\u00a0areas &#8211; home of ethnic minority people.<\/p>\n<p>In order to promote gender equality in management and utilization of forest resources, since February to August 2015, PanNature has been conducting Project \u201cImprove role of ethnic women in forest management and their fair access to forest resources in Xuan Nha Nature Reserve, Son La province\u201d, with support from GREEN Mekong Challenge Fund.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1703\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1703\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.org.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/11062015_surveyxuannha.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1703\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nature.org.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/11062015_surveyxuannha.jpg\" alt=\"Meeting with Management Board of Xuan Nha Nature Reserve. (Photo: PanNature)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In March 2015,\u00a0PanNature\u00a0project team have met and discussed with Management Board of Xuan Nha Nature Reserve, People\u2019s Committees of Chieng Xuan and Xuan Nha commune (Van Ho district, Son La province) about project goals, objectives and planned activities. Local authorities has warmly welcomed the project and expected its implementation.<\/p>\n<p>Assessment on ethnic women\u2019s needs and roles in management and utilization of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) in 2 communes has been conducted in this April.
