After seven years of decicated work in the position of Policy Program Manager, Ms. Tran Thanh Thuy has resigned from August 2016. From beginning of September 2016, Ms. Tran Thanh Thuy will be succeeded by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Van.
Ms. Van graduated from the Department of Environmental Science of Hanoi National University of Natural Sciences and got her M.Sc in Forest and Nature Conservation Policy from Wageningen University (Netherlands). She started working for PanNature in September 2008 as the coordinator of the Policy Program with intensive focus on studying and analysing contemporary laws and legislation on environmental protection and natural resources in Vietnam before taking a new position as the Policy Program Manager.
Van also takes over the role as the Coordinator of Vietnam’s Coalition on Mining, which PanNature is serving as the coordinating organization. The Coalition consists of representatives from business sector, civil society and government agencies sharing common goals in promoting transparency and good governance of the extractive industries, as well as reducing environmental and social impacts of this sector.
PanNature is currently looking for more dedicated members for the Policy Program as the organization is shifting more focus on providing meaningful analysis and inputs for the policy development process in natural resources and environment in Vietnam.
